Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees and do you accept insurance?
Rates are typically determined by your insurance company. I accept most insurance plans including, but not limited to BlueCross BlueShield, Health Partners, UnitedHeathCare, Optum. I recommend contacting me regarding your insurance as well as verifying coverage with your insurance company. Private pay is also an option. I would be happy to discuss private pay fees with you.
What if I can't draw, have no artistic ability?
Stick people are fine! Crooked lines welcome! No artistic experience or ability is required - just a willingness to relax and mess around with art materials. The use of art making in session is dependent on your comfort level and its usefulness to your unique situation. Art making is utilized along with talk therapy.
What is a session like?
A session may begin with scribble drawing warm-up and a talk check-in followed by an art experiential to support healing regarding the issues raised. Art experiential examples are:
Creating an inside/outside mask to represent how you feel inside versus what others may see on the outside,
Clay figurines representing family members as animals to explore relationships and dynamics,
A treasure box to celebrate the gift you are, and so on.
Each session is unique to the issues and presentation of your needs. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact me for a free consultation to learn more.
